Absurd within Metaphors

I am part of a project called 'Exploring the absurd within metaphors'. This is to explore metaphors and examining the absurdism that can surround them. We are to use any media to create this metaphor. It has been noted to look at the media as part of the absurd and help exemplify what absurdity of the metaphor we would be displaying.

I have had an interest in something called the Cordycep Unilaterus fungus. This fungus can control another species into doing its bidding so the fungus can find another place to grow and reproduce. This style of control has been the instigator into what I would look at for a metaphorical reference and how it relates to the absurdity within. To me there are many examples of this in humans, whether it be us having that control or an unawareness of us being controlled.

Something absurd to me that exempts control is a puppet and its puppeteer. The human can be seen as either of the two and could display the humans need of seeking control or trying to avoid control. I can see many possibilities to show this style of work without being too literal but need to find that interesting outlook and its relation to the media used. It also needs to be of appropriate length in studio production.

So far I have found articles relating to designers being the puppet masters of real world games. More on this to come.
